Born in Bronx, NY, Jim McElhinney spent 20 years in Clifton, New Jersey, and 20 years in Linwood, New Jersey, before finally settling on Florida's Gulf Coast in Sarasota.

Having worked for thirty-seven years as a postmaster and manager for the postal service, Jim's professional background placed him directly within the communities he served. In this role, he learned to distinguish and appreciate all the amenities and charms that make each neighborhood special. This experience proved to be a natural starting point for when he transitioned his career to the real estate industry as an agent in 1985. As a licensed agent in New Jersey for many years he joined the team at Michael Saunders for nine years earning his Graduate, REALTOR® Institute and Military Relocation Professional designations through continuing education. Jim joins the Coldwell Banker Realty team with vast knowledge and experience earned through out his Real Estate career.

Jim has long been an active part of his community and is a longstanding member of the Fraternal Order of Elks and the Loyal Order of Moose. His passion for sports was exemplified by the many years he volunteered his time as a little league all-star manager and a coach for both soccer and basketball.
